WHAT WE DO

Driving Systems Change for Housing Stability

Our Strategic Priorities

We focus on strategies where philanthropy can make the greatest impact in making housing systems work better for people.

Narrative Change

Through our Home Stories collaborative, we are shifting how Minnesotans understand housing. We show that housing is not just a technical or infrastructure issue but the foundation for thriving communities. This work builds public will for policies and investments that make housing more affordable and accessible for everyone. We provide shared messaging tools, trainings, and storytelling resources so partners can communicate with clarity and impact.

Lived Experience Leadership

People who have experienced housing instability bring insights that make systems work better. Our focus is on strengthening the entire housing field by embedding lived experience leadership across organizations, networks, and policy spaces. We champion strategies that create pathways for leadership, build shared standards, and connect emerging groups so lived experience becomes a consistent part of housing work statewide. When these voices shape decisions and policies, the whole system becomes more equitable, responsive, and effective.

Public Policy

We aim to strengthen the infrastructure and capacity of partners engaging in public policy work to defend proven solutions and design better systems through community-engaged policy development, advocacy, implementation, and more. From responding to federal changes to capitalizing on local opportunities, we work with partners statewide to ensure Minnesota’s voice is heard.
